Square Dancing Needs A New Generation Of Square Dance Callers...And EGO Wants To Help!
Folks, I've been dancing for 26+ years, and for 26+ years I have looked at the same flyers and same festivals featuring the same callers. As the activity decreases in size opportunities for new, young, "up and coming" callers continue to dry up. With those lost opportunities, we continue to watch our numbers go down and that spells disaster for the activity.
I realize that I can't fix everything, but I can surely do a small part, and with that in mind, EGO Recordings is going to dedicate a portion of it's time, energy, and income toward promoting future callers and leaders in our activity.
EGO "Scholarships" are simple enough, and available to all. EGO will donate a FREE EGO Recording mp3 download to any graduate of a partnered callers school. This program will give a single copy of the EGO Recording of choice to callers looking to improve their skills for the activity. Discuss this opportunity with the person running your school at least 30 days before the session begins so that I can make arrangements. (This offer is limited to one recording download per caller...EVER...not per school.)
EGO "Featured Future Stars" are callers that I've recognized future potential in, and who I'd like to have an opportunity to be seen and heard on a wider scale. Each year EGO Recordings will sponsor (pay for) a recording by a "Featured Future Star". This is an opportunity unlike "Alter-EGO" artists who pay their own way. This opportunity is paid for by me. The "Featured Future Stars" don't get paid either, but any profit made off of their recordings will continue to "pay it forward".
